Negativity from the French

US national team center Joel Embiid, who has French and American citizenship, said he is ready for ridicule from fans of the French team at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Previously, the French press had repeatedly reported that the player had decided to represent France at the Olympics. However, it later became known that Embiid decided to play for the Americans.

“I don’t think anything special awaits me, but if something happens, I’ll be ready. In general, I don’t think there could be anything worse than playing in New York in the playoffs,” Embiid was quoted as saying by the New York Times.

The Olympic Games in Paris will take place from July 26 to August 11. The French will play against the national teams of Japan, Germany and Brazil.
