"I didn't expect such a score"
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca shared his emotions after the Club World Cup final, in which his team beat PSG 3-0.
"I have great respect for PSG and their coach. I was preparing to win this match, but I did not expect such a score. I knew that our team was capable of facing such a team, and we had to make it clear to the players that we were here to win, and not just to be extras. That set the tone.
We are the club world champions and we should be proud of that; we are very happy. The players deserved this victory. We are proud that we were able to play in this tournament. At first, our goal was to get out of the group, and then we gradually moved through the tournament bracket. I can say that it was worth it. I have a feeling that this tournament will be very important, perhaps even more important than the Champions League," RMC Sport quotes the Italian specialist as saying.
