Edmonton Oilers forwards Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl played in an amateur league match in Newmarket, the hometown of the Canadian club captain. Their team lost 2-6, and the NHL players were left without goals.

“To be honest, it’s incredible to see them go out on the ice. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen,” the Toronto Sun quotes one of the referees as saying.

Recall that Edmonton lost to the Florida Panthers in the NHL playoff finals for the second year in a row.

Earlier it became known that Russian forward Evgeny Kuznetsov took part in an amateur match at the MedStar Capitals Iceplex training arena in Washington.
