Serve speed record broken at European Volleyball Championship
Turkish volleyball player of Cuban origin Melissa Teresa Vargas broke the record for the fastest serve in a European Championship match.
In the first game of the tournament with Sweden, a record was set for the speed of submission at the Turkish diagonal, the ball flew at a speed of 112 km / h.
The previous record belonged to the diagonal from Serbia Tiana Boskovic, her result was 111.4 km/h.
The Turkish national team beat the Swedish team with a score in the opening match of the tournament 3:0 (25:22, 25:18, 25:13). After two matches in Group C, Turkey takes the second place, Germany takes the first place, Azerbaijan takes the third.
The European Women's Volleyball Championship is hosted by Belgium, Germany, Italy and Estonia.
