Arsenal's new mascot
Arsenal have published a new team photo. On it you can see a curious character - a chocolate Labrador named Win. What kind of dog?
Win was first spotted at Arsenal's Colney training ground in May this year when goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale was renewing his contract with the club - when The Times wrote that the one-year-old Labrador was constantly at the club's disposal to boost team morale. “We always talk about family. Our club is also a family, so I felt that we needed a dog that would represent our family. I think we are a little lacking in love – we need to show it more. I chose my dog carefully and Win is the perfect candidate. We all love to win, and Win needs a lot of love. This way we will help each other,” is how Arteta explained the reason for the dog’s appearance in Colney.
A little explanation: Arteta gave the dog a name based on the verb “to win” - to win. Arsenal, according to Mikel, loves to win, so they should also love a dog with the appropriate nickname.
“The reaction from the players to Win has been incredible. This Labrador improves the mood of all the guys with the snap of a finger. She gives us her love, which gives Colney even more positive energy. Win holds us accountable and we must take care of it. These things are very important to me,” Mikel said.
