Responsibility for problems

Bernie Lee, the agent for injured Brooklyn Nets guard Ben Simmons, took the blame for keeping his client out of action this season due to lingering back problems.

“We continue to try to find non-surgical options that will allow Ben to move forward on a permanent basis and that is where I am responsible and where I am to blame. When I started working with Ben, I made a commitment that I would do everything I could to find the right answers and professionals for him to work with so that he could get rid of the problems he was having. Obviously this did not happen and that is my responsibility.

In the year I've worked with Ben, he's taken less than seven days off. In almost 20 years of work, I have not seen this. So the idea of him doing everything that is required of him, but not getting results, does not suit me in any way, and I intend to do everything to find a way out of this situation,” Lee was quoted as saying by Bleacher Report.
